Location, Location, Location

Hey there, fellow wedding people!

Hope you have all have had a wonderful end of the year, and an even better beginning of 2014.  I am back on the “Wedding Wagon” as it were, and so I am back with DETAILS!

Yes, that’s right people, I have all the details about the things that you all want to know!

OK, maybe not ALL…. I have some…. OK, a few….

Some starter details? (I would hate to overwhelm you. Yep, that is it, I am being courteous and all that.)

First off, let me show off the venue: Homewood near downtown Asheville, NC.

It was the crenelations that got me. And the stone. And the fireplaces….

And here is where the ceremony will be:

That’s where the excitement happens! (You’ll have to show up to see what all the chairs are looking at, though)

(Ladies- Shoe check! There is a gravel path, and the seating area will be set up over grass)

It should be absolutely beautiful with the fall leaves.

OK, I know what you are REALLY interested in is lodging.

I’m not going to lie, lodging is a bit more difficult in in Asheville in the fall due to the leaf watching. It is pretty spectacular though (It was one reason we chose to have our wedding up there.) That said I would book early. There are a ton of wonderful Bed and Breakfasts near the venue and downtown that are going for similar or less than the hotel rooms. If that interests you, please go visit The Asheville Association of Legendary Inns or The Asheville Bed and Breakfast Association. Both sites are pretty easy to use, and you can check the bed availability of the different places online.

If the traditional hotel is more your speed, a good place you might want to start is Downtown Asheville, or the areas around it. There is also the option of renting a cabin or camping if you want to make an adventure of the weekend!

For those of you who are curious, I will be staying at the beautiful Carolina B&B.

Chris has yet to share details as to where he will be staying.  (As long as he shows up to the venue on time, right!)

Hope you all find just the right spot to lay your heads down!

-K

(P.S. OK, I admit- the entire time I was writing this post, I was thinking how I could incorporate the album Lodgerby David Bowie into it. Alas, I failed, and so all you get is it postscript. You are all welcome.)
